Chapter 4

Being early January and between projects it was a quiet time for the team at IAS. Wes had noticed a number of staff peering intently at email while tabbing back and forth to the internet surfing for new movies, news, and other nonsense. Clearing his throat loud enough for the rest of the team in the office to notice, Wes began an announcement. ‘Alright guys we’ve had a good break over the holidays it’s time to get us some new business.’ Just as he really started to get going the phone rang. ‘Probably your mum!’ joked Helen. Helen handled all the admin functions for IAS, manned the phones, and could hold her own managing projects when required. Wes smirked ‘Ok, Ok, at least try to look busy will you?’

Helen noticed that the number was blocked. Her software, normally successful at reverse lookup, was struggling for some reason. ‘Good afternoon IAS, this is Helen.’
‘Hi, I’m Peter from Xcon I wanted to talk to someone regarding a project.’
‘How can I help you Peter?’ Helen was sharing details of the call with the entire IAS team and they assisted by relaying relevant search results for XCON, their staff and projects back to her.
‘We’re looking for a team that can come into an entrain project and ensure that it stays on track’
Thinking that this was just what IAS needed Helen asked ‘What kind of project are you running? When do you want to get started?’
‘I’d prefer to discuss the details in person in our offices as soon as possible. Can we organise a meeting?’
With prompts from Wes and access to the shared team calendars Helen agreed the details with Peter and wrapped up the call.

'Just what the doctor ordered' remarked Wes. 'Team, get as much information as you can on XCON, Peter, and their key staff. I want Luke and Phillip to come along to the meeting tomorrow and we better be prepared.'
